I’m the writer of sweet romance novels that have more than a little spice.
I spent my childhood crafting short stories. As I got older, those stories became longer and I eventually filled a 70-page spiral notebook with a fictional book. Feeling embarrassed about the story, I threw it out. I wrote less and less throughout my teenage years and 20s.
Several years ago, I began to feel the itch to write again. I created a blog and began to publish lifestyle posts about travel, personal stories and experiences, and really just about anything. At some point during my mostly, but not completely, failed blogging career, I began to write creative pieces. One of those creative stories became the inspiration for my book “Hometown Heartstrings,” though it took a few years before my fingers hit the keyboard to make something of it. I then took that ~1000 word short story and turned it into a ~35k word novella.
5 Fun & Random Facts
- I love a good romance (obviously), but I also enjoy reading historical fiction, especially those that take place during the roaring 20s or WWII era.
- My writing experience dates back to childhood short stories. I later took a stab at blogging and also had a two year stint in freelance writing articles.
- I was a runner up in an essay writing contest in elementary school and was too shy to read it in front of the school. Another student read it on my behalf.
- My two dogs firmly believe that they’re lap dogs despite one being 90 lbs and the other 70 lbs.
- I make a playlist every year on my birthday and for every long road trip.
